If you had said to me 20 years ago that I would be forming my own LLC in 2024 I would have said that you were out of our mind!  I graduated James Madison University in 2006 with a degree in Psychology, where I avoided anyone remotely associated with the business school like the plague: almost as if I was afraid that their suits and rigidity would rub off on me and threaten my love for people.  One of the most amazing things about life however is that we change, we grow, we evolve.

Turning 40 came with a variety of different surprises, some sort of expected, some much more profound.  I have come to terms with who I am, what I want out of life, but probably most importantly; what I have to offer.  I spent most of my adult life second guessing myself and pondering how much value I had.  Tons of great ideas, but never the right environment or motivation to really act upon them.  I think many of us share that same story.

Confidence is something that can be built upon.  It compounds over time and hopefully as we age, flourishes into something special that allows us the freedom to pursue something called passion.  I have discovered that I want to harness that passion and confidence and build something for myself and my family that brings value and joy into the lives of the people that I work with.  I want my new found confidence to be inspiring, transcending, motivating, empowering, liberating, and life-changing for others.  So much about “confidence” is perceived to be so negatively in this world. We often associate confidence with arrogance, narcissism.  I want my energy to be something that others feel empowered by; they harness that energy for themselves and chase their dreams, their goals.

I intend to use this blog as an opportunity to communicate my struggles, my successes, and the impact that Geared2Engage makes on the lives of others.  If you are reading this and asking yourself “Should I chase my own dreams”, it all depends on which is heavier; regret or discipline.
